A CSX practice derailment in Halifax County has canceled Amtrak practice routes throughout the nation, together with some routes to and from Raleigh.
A CSX spokesperson mentioned the practice derailed 28 loaded coal vehicles on a passenger service route east of West Franklin Street in Enfield round 4 p.m. on Sunday.
“Due to one of our rail partners trains blocking the route, Carolinian Train 79 is canceled between New York (NYP) and Raleigh (RGH),” Amtrak Alerts posted on X round 2 a.m.
