Food Truck Enjoyable at Riverside Pavilion

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) – It was a flavorful begin to the week in Presque Isle, as residents gathered on the Riverside Pavilion for the season’s first “Food Truck Monday.” The occasion gives locals an opportunity to get pleasure from lunch outdoor whereas supporting native meals distributors.

Down on the Riverside Pavillion locals had the possibility to dive into some native meals. Food Truck Mondays is placed on by town of Presque Isle. The occasion incorporates a lineup of cell meals distributors providing a spread of lunch choices. Monday’s occasion ran from 11 AM to 2 PM and offered an informal setting for group members to assemble, eat, and benefit from the park.

Melissa Runshe, Assistant Assessor for the City of Presque Isle says: “On Mondays, most of the restaurants in the area are closed. So, we identified that it would be a really good and fun event to have food trucks. Everybody loves a good food truck and there’s a lot of variety.”

Lyndsey Maynard, Executive Administrative Assistant for town added: “We’re gonna have 1 more time next Monday, August 25th 11am to 2pm at the Riverside Pavilion. It was the 1st time, so we were a little nervous, but people came out and I’d say over 100 participants.”

Runshe: “Yeah absolutely, and there was really big waves of people that were coming at different times and the vendors seemed really happy and that’s important and we had families and people on break from work come out, so it was really good.”

As a part of this occasion town took in meals donations to assist these in want across the county. Runshe: “ACAP has a community food cupboard. There is a need for nonperishable food items, and they need assistance with their cupboard. They take donations. So, what we did was we took donations, and we took people’s names, wrote a ticket, and we’re gonna do a drawing, and 1 lucky person’s gonna win a free lunch on Monday. Next week we are doing donations for our community outreach person, Lori-Ann. She is giving food items to the homeless people in the area.”
