People residing in East Yorkshire have been invited to say two free baggage of compost in September.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s waste and recycling crew stated baggage might be collected in Beverley, Preston, Goole, Hornsea, Pocklington, Withernsea, Driffield and Carnaby.

The compost was constituted of backyard and meals waste residents put in brown bins, the council stated.

Councillor Paul West, cupboard member for setting and transport, stated: “I’m always amazed at how popular our compost giveaways are every year. Our residents really love them.”

The council handed out 5,000 baggage of compost over the last giveaway in May.

People can gather baggage on the following areas:

  • 13 September (10:00 BST) – East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s depot in Annie Reed Road, Beverley
  • 15 September (16:00 BST) – Lelley Fields Crematorium, Preston
  • 17 September (16:00 BST) – West Park, Goole
  • 19 September (16:30 BST) – Hornsea Freeport
  • 22 September (17:00 BST) – Wolds Gliding Club, Pocklington
  • 24 September (16:00 BST) – Pavilion Car Park, Withernsea
  • 26 September (16:00 BST) – Driffield Showground
  • 27 September (10:00 BST) – East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Carnaby

Officials requested residents to not queue on the venues beforehand, or they could be turned away for security causes.
