Panther ladies’ swimming fourth in Cody

Returning nearer to dwelling for the second meet of the season the Powell Panther ladies’ swim workforce completed fourth on the Terry Bartlett Invitational on Friday in Cody, including new state qualifiers within the course of.

“Our freshman class is progressing very nicely,” coach Bob Smartt stated. “The best news of the meet was to have Daisy achieve her state cut in the 100 backstroke in only her second high school swim meet … Our other four freshmen continue to achieve significant personal best times.”

The Panthers confronted robust competitors in Cody, with three of the highest groups within the state in attendance. The Panthers completed with 152.5 factors.

Cody completed simply forward of Powell with 193.5 whereas Buffalo was second with 313.5 and Lander first with 389 factors.

“Buffalo was extremely impressive at the Cody meet. They now look likely to replace Cody as the second best 3A team in the state,” Smartt stated.

The Panthers return dwelling this weekend for the primary time this season, internet hosting the Gene Dozah Invite at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The highest inserting Panther relay in Cody was the 200 free relay ending fourth, with Smartt noting that can be a degree of emphasis for this week.
