ACC Pronounces Field Hockey Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Syracuse again Bo van Kempen was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week for area hockey, whereas North Carolina goalkeeper Merritt Skubisz was chosen because the ACC Defensive Player of the Week for matches performed between September 8-14.
 
Bo van Kempen, Grad., Back, Syracuse (Zevenaar, Netherlands)

• Scored 4 of Syracuse’s six objectives all through the week.
• Went an ideal 3-for-3 on penalty stroke makes an attempt.
• Converted on a penalty stroke in time beyond regulation to beat No. 11 Princeton, conserving the Orange undefeated.
• Turned in her third hat trick of the season towards Lafayette.
• Scored on 4 of her 5 photographs on aim this week.

 
Merritt Skubisz, Fr., Goalkeeper, North Carolina (Houston, Texas)

• Did not enable a aim in 60 minutes of motion.
• Logged three saves in every recreation towards Appalachian State and No. 9 Liberty.
• Played the second half towards the Mountaineers, sustaining the shutout regardless of taking part in with primarily second-team defenders.
• Made her third profession begin towards Liberty, holding the ninth-ranked Flames scoreless.

• Six ACC area hockey groups are ranked within the Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll, together with 4 groups within the prime 10 nationally.
• Conference play begins on Friday, September 19, with a pair of ranked contests.
