Seven Cardinal Rowers Set to Compete at 2025 World Championships – Stanford Cardinal

STANFORD, Calif. – A complete of seven present and former Cardinal ladies’s rowers will compete on the 2025 Senior World Rowing Championships, held in Shanghai, China Sept. 21-28.

Luise Bachmann ‘25, Esther Briz Zamorano ‘22, Azja Czajkowski ‘23, Célia Dupré ‘27, Kaitlyn Kynast ‘22, Beckie Leigh ‘24, and Sarah Marriott ‘27 will represent the Cardinal at the annual event, gathering the best women’s crews from 56 nations.  

Two present Stanford student-athletes, 2025 ACC Newcomer of the Year Marriott, and 2025 ACC Crew of the Year member Dupré, had been every chosen to signify their respective residence international locations on the occasion. Both had been members of the Stanford squad that introduced residence this system’s second NCAA staff title within the final three seasons in 2025.  Dupre, a 2024 Olympian for the Swiss National Team within the Women’s Quadruple Sculls, will race for Switzerland within the Women’s Pair and Mixed Doubles crews, whereas Marriott was chosen as a spare for the Australian National Team. 

In addition to Dupre and Marriott, 5 former members of the Stanford ladies’s rowing program will compete on the occasion, together with three members of the 2023 squad that introduced residence the Cardinal’s first NCAA staff title since 2009. Class of 2025 graduate, Bachmann, will race for the German National Team, competing in each the ladies’s and blended eights, whereas Czajkowski is slated to race for Team USA within the ladies’s straight 4 and blended eight crews, and Leigh will race for the New Zealand National staff’s ladies’s straight 4 and blended eight. 

The occasion will even characteristic two members of the category of 2022, as each Zamorano and Kynast are set to race for Team Spain’s ladies’s single and Team USA’s ladies’s eight, respectively. The duo had been every a part of the Cardinal’s 2021 and 2022 squads that introduced residence runner-up staff finishes on the NCAA Championship regatta.
