FORT MYERS, Fla. – After every week of festivities, the Blue Team triumphed over the Green Team with a decisive 787–558 victory.

“Green and Blue week is truly special for our program”, says Coach Dave Rollins. “It is a week of team building, learning, competition, and a whole lot of fun. It is great to be on the winning side of this meet for once! I am officially 1-9 in my time as an Eagle. All joking aside, to see the team set up and perform so well, was absolutely incredible. To be swimming and diving as well as we did today, being only five weeks into the season is inspiring. This season is going to be very special for our program and today was a glimpse of what is to come.  Looking forward to continuing our competitions over the next two weeks then really ramp things up as we prepare for November.”

When the primary occasion started, the Green Team was first to take the stage within the stomach flop contest. Emerging from the locker room “into the jungle”, they had been lined in inexperienced paint as Guns N’ Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle” blasted from the audio system. Once on the pool, Audrey Sambrook stepped onto the beginning block and delivered a flawless stomach flop into the water.

Next up was the Blue Team, led by Izzy Ackley and Emily McMahan. The pair positioned a paddleboard within the pool, climbed aboard, and recreated the viral “aura farming” video as they made their manner throughout. Once they reached the opposite facet, many of the group gathered on the beginning blocks and capped off presentation with a dramatic group stomach flop to shut out the meet.

Overall, it was every week of competitors, group constructing, and enjoyable.

FGCU now begins getting ready for the FIU Classic on Oct. 3-4 in Miami, Florida.
