Iowa Swimming Topples Northern Iowa in Season Opener

University of Iowa swimming and diving defeated Northern Iowa within the season opener, 224-74, on the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center on Friday night.

“It was a fantastic start to our season tonight. We had a total team effort to win 16 out of 16 events,” Iowa coach Nathan Mundt mentioned. “This was a remarkable performance against a good Northern Iowa team. We’ve been working hard to start strong the first few weeks, so it’s great to see that hard work pay off. Now, we can go back and continue to work and get ready for Minnesota.”

Juniors Addie Crain and Olivia Swalley, freshman Payton Flowers and sophomore Rachel Dildine began the meet with a 200-medley relay win.
