Opposition chief Patrick Herminie defeats Wavel Ramkalawan

Seychelles’ major opposition chief Patrick Herminie has received presidential elections, defeating incumbent Wavel Ramkalawan in a runoff vote, based on official outcomes launched by the electoral fee.

Herminie gained 52.7% of the vote, in contrast with Ramkalawan’s 47.3%.

In his victory speech, Herminie promised to decrease the price of residing, revive public providers, and unite the island nation, saying the outcome marked “a new chapter for all Seychellois”.
