ASHBURNHAM — Children are invited to collect across the “campfire” for a night of Halloween enjoyable with storyteller Todd Goodwin.
“Halloween Campfire for Children” shall be held from 5:30 till 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, on the Stevens Memorial Library, 20 Memorial Drive.
Goodwin, a lifelong New Englander and Fitchburg native, tells seasonal tales 12 months spherical with a “campfire” — actual or imagined — as a gathering place.
“Around the campfire there are no costumes or sets, just the face and voice of the teller who uses the imagination of the listeners to travel to different places in time and space,” Goodwin stated.
Goodwin attracts inspiration from his tenting experiences, literature, and his background as a drama and historical past trainer.
For over 45 years, he has shared his distinctive mix of storytelling, music, and humor in faculties, libraries, camps, and group facilities all through the area. He can also be a member of Northeast Storytelling and the Fitchburg Cultural Alliance
“I enjoy watching listeners’ faces as they use their imagination to get into a story,” stated Goodwin. “And they always do!”
