Wallace, Barket Win Two Matches; Duke Splits with Hofstra & Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Duke wrestling tandem of Aidan Wallace and Connor Barket received a pair of matches Saturday at WrangleMania because the Blue Devils cut up two contests with Hofstra (W, 24-17) and No. 8 Lehigh (L, 38-7) at Freedom High School in Bethlehem. 
 
After falling behind, 14-0, the Blue Devils totaled their second straight come-from-behind victory as Duke received six out of the ultimate seven bouts to win, 24-17. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED – DUKE VS. HOFSTRA

• Duke’s SP O’Donnell acquired issues rolling for the Blue Devils at 149 kilos as he pinned Alex Turley to place six factors on the board.
• Freshman Mikey Boulanger then collected his first collegiate victory at 157 kilos as he defeated Frank Volpe, 8-2.
• With a 2-1 win, Duke redshirt sophomore Aidan Wallace moved to 2-0 on the season at 174 kilos with a victory towards Jurlus Clark.
• For the second match in a row, redshirt junior Gaetano Console was spectacular as he collected a serious choice, 18-4, versus Josh Jorgge at 184 kilos to chop the Hofstra result in 17-16.
• Redshirt freshman Owen McGrory gave Duke its first lead, 19-17, as he totaled his first collegiate twin match win with a 6-2 choice over Will Conlon at 197 kilos.
• Redshirt junior Connor Barket turned in one other stable victory at heavyweight as he registered a 17-2 tech fall towards Danny Church as Duke collected a 24-17 victory.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED – DUKE VS. #8 LEHIGH

• With a 4-1 choice towards Dom Federici, Duke’s Wallace moved to 3-0 on the season.
• Barket additionally remained undefeated at 3-0 with an 18-5 main choice towards Calvin Lachman.

 
NOTES

• Connor Barket is now 43-30 all-time for the Blue Devils and 26-12 over the past two seasons.  He has received 15 out of his final 20 twin matches. 
• Aidan Wallace moved to 26-13 at Duke and 25-10 over the past two years.  He has received 13 out of the final 17 twin matches. 
• SP O’Donnell notched his second fall of his profession and eighth profession win.
• Gaetano Console posted his twenty first profession victory and fifteenth twin match victory.
• Owen McGrory totaled his third profession Duke win and first twin match win.

• Duke will subsequent compete individually within the Journeymen Collegiate Classic Sunday, Nov. 9.It might be contested at Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pa.
