Illinois High School Association women swimming and diving sectionals had been held throughout the state on Saturday. Those first-place finishers and others hitting the state-qualifying requirements advance to subsequent weekend’s IHSA state finals at Westmont’s FMC Natatorium.
Washington received the Normal Community Sectional with 303 factors, outdistancing itself from runner-up LaSalle-Peru (230 factors) and Normal West (165 factors). Olympia (72 factors) took seventh.
At the Pekin Sectional, Metamora (243 factors) was the staff champ with Galesburg (226 factors) taking second and Dunlap (161 factors) third. Peoria Notre Dame (134 factors) and Pekin (107) took fifth and sixth, respectively.
