SAU students come in and volunteering at the library, whether they’re shelving books, they help set up this beautiful setup, we had SAU baseball come out, we had SAU basketball come out, the SAU students are coming consistently, pretty much every day. We have someone here every day.”
Jim Garrett commented, “That’s kind of a source of pride for us, them using our library that much.”
After the monetary report was accredited and outdated enterprise was mentioned, new enterprise commenced, with dialogue being revamped the Columbia County Library’s Winter Wonderland.
“So, we had a full-on snowball fight in the foyer, and it was the, we had kids. We had adults. It was a blast. But this has been, we had real snow. I don’t know if you felt it when you come through the door, but if you stick your hand in there, it is cold. It like snow. You can build a snowman if you want to. We have had a huge turnout. We’ve had people decorate ornaments. We have had people decorate bookmarks. We had a lady that came in and made a tree, like a Christmas tree. We had nothing but wonderful comments from different city officials. They brought their families. The mayor come by and said it was beautiful setup. He had said he hadn’t seen the library this pretty, ever,” Moore stated.
The assembly ended with congratulating Garrett on his retirement from the Columbia County Library Board.
He served on the board for ten years. “We appreciate your service and your time. Which brings us to when someone leaves the board someone, who has to join the board. And Jennifer and Judge Fields let me know that 2 applications were received. And all those applications, Jennifer and Judge Fields have chosen the application for top, from Todd Duke. And he is going to be recommended now to the Quorum Court in January for them to approve him to become our new board member,” Kathy Sharp said, resulting in the tip of the assembly.
The subsequent Columbia County Library Board assembly might be in January.
