Because she knows that you like one-on-one conversations,” she mirrored. “I’m not good at small talk. I like to get deep. I like to really know what’s going on in someone’s life.”

Mitchell defined she thrives as a good friend when she has a “deep connection” with that particular person.

“That is the friend that I am. That is how I show up best for my friends. When I can truly peel back those onion layers,” she shared. “So this year I am fully embracing how I show up for my friends and what type of friend I am. I’m the friend that you call when stuff gets sticky; I’m a friend that you call when things go south. I’m the friend that you call when you’re trying to work through something. We all need those kind of friends.”

While coming to phrases with not being the “fun and funny friend,” Mitchell admitted she was “proud” to be “the good friend that exhibits up.

“I am also the girl that doesn’t have a gazillion friends and that’s OK too,” she stated. “I think this year is about embracing the things that we are and let go of all of the things that were not.”
