New Age | BUFT ends images exhibition

BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) Photography Club organised the BUFT National Photography Exhibition 2025, sponsored by Giant Group and powered by Fashion Step Bangladesh, at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy within the capital.

The three-day exhibition, titled Frames of Freedom of BUFT- From Uprising to Awakening, co-powered by S and A Associates and Private University Students Alliance of Bangladesh, was held on December 18, 21 and 22.

The national-level exhibition showcased 130 excellent images, rigorously chosen from 7,661 entries submitted from throughout the nation, celebrating visible storytelling, artistic freedom, and up to date photographic excellence.

The occasion concluded with a prize-giving ceremony on Monday.

Faruque Hassan, chairman of the Board of Trustees of BUFT; Professor Ayub Nabi Khan, adviser of BUFT; Professor MdAlamgir Hossain, performing vice-chancellor of BUFT; Sharmin Hassan, director of Giant Group; DG of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Rezauddin Stalin; and Abdullah Al Mahfuz Zakaria, president of PUSAB, addressed the gathering.

Chief visitor Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, cultural affairs adviser, emphasised the position of images as a robust medium for cultural expression and social reflection.

Awards have been offered in classes together with Best Photograph, Jury Award, and Special Mentions, adopted by cultural performances and the honouring of sponsors and companions.

The exhibition was formally inaugurated on December 18 by Faruque Hassan, chairman of the Board of Trustees of BUFT.

Yousuf Tushar, president of the Bangladesh Photographic Society, graced the event as visitor of honour, whereas Professor Ayub Nabi Khan; Rafiquzzaman, registrar of BUFT; Mohammad Imtiaj, director, Department of Public Relations of BUFT; and Rayed Barkat, adviser of the images membership attended as particular company.

Following the inauguration, the distinguished company toured the gallery and praised the inventive depth, technical benefit, and narrative power of the exhibited images.
