Cunningham Named Associate Athletics Director for Team Communications and External Strategy

Notre Dame Athletics has introduced the elevation of Claire Cunningham to Associate Athletics Director, Team Communications and External Strategy. 

In this position, Cunningham will oversee Notre Dame Athletics communications technique, whereas main a staff of communicators in media relations, program and student-athlete branding and different exterior efforts for Notre Dame’s 26 sports activities. In addition to main her communications perform, Cunningham will lead varied exterior initiatives for Notre Dame Athletics and collaborate with campus, league, media and trade companions. She can even lead communications efforts for athletics directors and workers. 

Cunningham (née Kramer) beforehand served as Director of Football Communications at Notre Dame, overseeing day-to-day media operations of the soccer program, in addition to main an inside staff of collaborators targeted on selling Notre Dame Football by way of artistic content material, digital efforts, media relations, fan outreach and different exterior avenues. 

Before returning to Notre Dame in August of 2023, Cunningham was the Public Relations Manager at world design agency Populous. A local of the Kansas City space, Cunningham graduated from the University of Notre Dame. She and her husband, John, reside in South Bend.
