Obituary for Leonard M. Conlin, Sr.

Leonard M. Conlin, Sr., age 95, handed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving household. He was predeceased by his devoted spouse of 54 years, Jane E. (King) Conlin, whom he lovingly known as “his bride.”
Born in Flushing, NY, on April 6, 1930, Len was the son of the late Walter and Lucy (Leary) Conlin. He attended Hempstead High School and graduated from Niagara University in 1952, the place he majored in arithmetic, served as senior class president, and captained the cross-country crew. Following commencement, Len studied for the priesthood. During his two-year novitiate with the Vincentian Fathers, his discernment led him towards a distinct calling, schooling.  He went on to earn his M.Ed. from Worcester State Teachers College.
Len devoted greater than 40 years to schooling, starting in Worcester and spending greater than 4 many years as a beloved math trainer, coach and summer time faculty director within the Framingham faculty system. He additionally served for 35 years as an adjunct teacher at Northeastern University. He was actively concerned in quite a few group and church committees and in addition served as a city assembly member.
Len and Jane have been blessed with eight kids, fifteen grandchildren and eight nice grandchildren. Their son Jimmy, who has Down syndrome, was lovingly cared for at residence till age 18. In the Nineteen Nineties, Len and Jane helped set up a shared residence for developmentally disabled adults, creating a long-lasting legacy of compassion.
Family was the middle of Len’s life. He was recognized for his annual Easter household dinners at Ken’s Steak House and for creating customized household calendars with colour images, distributed every Christmas as essentially the most anticipated reward of the season.
Len cherished singing and performing on the Briarwood Continuing Care Community, the place he and Jane made their residence for 25 years, cherishing friendships and the kindness of employees and residents who introduced them pleasure and luxury.  He additionally loved gardening, embracing new expertise, and bringing laughter by means of his mild pranks and heat humor.
He was predeceased by his brothers Walter and Theodore and his son Joseph. He is survived by his seven kids: Leonard Milton Conlin Jr. and his spouse Susan and their kids Jack, Mike and Kate of Marblehead; John and his spouse Karen Clarke Conlin and their kids Thea, Owen and Della of Norfolk; Jane and her husband Bill Pappalardo and their kids Amanda, Ashley and Angela of Woburn; Tim Conlin and his spouse Tina and his kids Tatarina, Michelle, Isabel and Roselynne of Framingham; Elizabeth and her husband James Cronin and their daughter Karen of Hudson; James Conlin of Marlborough; and Mary and her husband Scott Soderberg and their son Nolan of Ashland, together with eight cherished nice grandchildren.

Calling hours can be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. twenty third at Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The Funeral Mass can be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan 24 at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester.  Burial can be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester.
In lieu of flowers, donations could also be made in Leonard’s reminiscence to a Down syndrome group of 1’s alternative or to the Briarwood Continuing Care Retirement Community, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester, MA 01606.
