Coaches’ Corner
“I was very pleased with how the team performed this weekend,” stated head coach Sean Graham. “George Mason is a challenging place to run fast, and we had numerous athletes set PRs and season bests. More importantly than that, we had a lot of event wins, heat wins, and championship-style racing moves — all done after a very challenging week for the team battling snow, ice, bitter cold.
“We’re digging out now, getting again on our monitor this week and again to work earlier than we hit two nice alternatives two weeks from now.”
“”We use this meet as an opportunity to develop our skill sets mid season and set ourselves up for weeks of great racing in late February,” stated affiliate head coach Zach Prescott. “The team did just that, and I was particularly impressed with our event winners throughout the day. I feel confident that our ability to compete well on a flat track at this point in the season will pay huge dividends later in the season and into indoor.”
Next Up
The Eagles will break up in a few weeks, with some competing on the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational and a few competing on the Liberty Darius Dixon Invitational (Feb. 13-14).
