The United Nations Countering Terrorist Travel Programme Delivers Roadmap Workshop in Indonesia

The United Nations Countering Terrorist Travel (CT Travel) Programme concluded, on 12 February, a two-day workshop devoted to the roadmap to strengthen the nationwide passenger knowledge system in Indonesia. Supported by the Government of Australia, the workshop aimed toward presenting the authorized and operational suggestions of the Roadmap to senior officers from border administration, counter-terrorism, immigration, customs, transport, human rights, and knowledge safety nationwide authorities.

Following the presentation, individuals mentioned the important thing findings and proposals of the Roadmap, which was developed based mostly on the nationwide session held in January 2025. Key areas included:

In addition, they developed the Terms of Reference and Standard Operating Procedures governing the PIU ecosystem and inter-agency cooperation mechanisms.

The workshop was delivered by CT Travel companion specialists from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Terrorism Prevention Branch and the UNODC Passenger and Cargo Control Programme.

On the margins of the workshop, the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism and the National Counter-Terrorism Agency of Indonesia signed a Letter of Intent formalizing their partnership beneath the CT Travel Programme to strengthen nationwide capabilities in keeping with the implementation roadmap.
