Women’s swimming and diving locations fifth at NESCAC championships

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Hamilton College Continentals completed in fifth place out of 11 groups on the 2026 New England Small College Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships inside Wesleyan University’s Webster Family Natatorium on Sunday, Feb. 15.
 
Hamilton’s exhibiting within the workforce standings was its finest on this championship since 2004. The Continentals racked up 854 workforce factors over the course of the 4 days.
 
Most of Hamilton’s drama was saved for the time trials. Jade Matthias ’26 broke a workforce document and made an NCAA championships ‘B’ reduce within the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.33 seconds. Sam Karlson ’23 held the previous document of 23.42 seconds, which she set in 2023.

The Continentals ended up in fifth place within the 400 free relay with a time of three:28.99 that made an NCAA ‘B’ reduce and tied the workforce document from three years in the past. Matthias, Miner, Wielgus and Gianna Cofone ’27 had been on the relay.
