As we have fun Glasstire’s twenty fifth anniversary, we’re commemorating the artists and artwork professionals who’ve formed their regional artwork scenes, in addition to Texas artwork extra broadly. To do that, all through 2026 we’re commissioning photographers from throughout the state to doc greater than 80 necessary Texas artists, arts staff, collectors, gallerists, and plenty of others. We can be sharing these pictures all year long, coinciding with a few of our thematic months.

Our first spherical of images debuts as a part of our Early Sightings: Before They Were Big theme, that includes among the individuals Glasstire has seen develop and thrive all through their careers.

Trenton Doyle Hancock is an artist dwelling and dealing in Houston, Texas. He has proven extensively all through the state, and has had main solo exhibitions nationally and internationally.

Benito Huerta is an artist and curator dwelling and dealing in North Texas. He labored for 27 years as a professor on the University of Texas at Arlington, and in addition served because the establishment’s gallery Director and Curator. Vincent Valdez is a San Antonio-born, Texas-based artist. He has obtained a number of awards and fellowships, and his work has been proven extensively in each group and solo exhibitions throughout Texas and the U.S. In 2019, he was a speaker for Glasstire’s Off Road dialog collection.

Julie Speed is an artist dwelling and dealing in Marfa, Texas. She has exhibited throughout the state, nationally, and internationally.

Deborah Roberts is a blended media artist in Austin, Texas. Her first Texas museum solo present, I’m, was introduced by The Contemporary Austin in 2021, and her work was featured within the main touring exhibition Multiplicity: Blackness in Contemporary American Collage, which got here to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in 2024. She was the recipient of the 2023 Texas Medal of Arts Award for Visual Art.
