Curler coaster coming to Fun-Plex waterpark in Omaha this summer season

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Fun-Plex waterpark in Omaha could have a brand new addition to ramp up the enjoyable this summer season.

On Monday, the park released plans for “Mammoth,” a curler coaster set to face at 70 ft tall and stretch throughout 2,000 ft of observe. It is scheduled to be open for the upcoming summer season park season.

Fun-Plex made the announcement in a social media video Monday morning.

“You MAY even start seeing signs of him around Omaha and if you do, capture it. Post your Mammoth sightings using #FunPlexMammoth for a chance to win season passes, tickets, and more!!,” the publish reads.

According to a launch, the curler coaster would be the “largest coaster of its kind in Nebraska” and could have high-speed twists and turns. Along with the addition, there may even be a redesign of the Fun-Plex Speedway go-kart attraction.

Fun-Plex has been and not using a coaster for a number of years, solely having water points of interest and different rides. The park shared extra about how Mammoth was named and themed, saying it got here from a chunk of park lore.

“As the story goes: during excavation for Fun-Plex’s newest attraction, crews uncovered what appeared to be the remains of an Ice Age mammoth. That discovery inspired everything from the coaster’s massive scale to its identity and set the stage for a city-wide rollout now unfolding,” the discharge states.

To rejoice forward of Mammoth’s arrival, Fun-Plex is providing a limited-time four-ticket pack for $99.99 on its web site.
