Springfield, Mass. – March 3, 2026 – Springfield College males’s swimming and diving took residence yearly awards and All-Conference honors after the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships wrapped up this season.

Christian Butler (North Haven, Conn.) was named the NEWMAC Men’s Diver of the Year after sweeping each boards and incomes NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honors on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. Head coach Peter Avdoulos was named the NEWMAC Men’s Diving Coach of the Year for the sixth consecutive season as senior Matt Quinney (Belchertown, Mass.) earned NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team accolades within the 100-breast. 

Butler was stellar on the NEWMAC Championships as he claimed gold on the 1-meter board with a rating of 510.65 and the 3-meter board with a rating of 530.47. In six makes an attempt on the NEWMAC Championships, Butler has 5 gold medals, one silver medal and is the three-time NEWMAC Men’s Diver of the Year. 

Avdoulos earned his twentieth general honor and sixth straight NEWMAC Men’s Diving Coach of the Year accolade. Avdoulos coached junior Butler, the now three-time NEWMAC Men’s Diver of the Year, to 6 weekly awards from the convention workplace this season and helped him to a spot on the NCAA Division III Northeast-North Diving Regional Championships. All three of his males’s divers scored on the NEWMAC Championships as Butler swept each boards and Tyler Khongkham (East Hampton, Conn.) positioned third within the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. 

Quinney earned NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team honors after a second place end within the 100-breast as he clocked 54.58 for this system report as his time completed the season because the twenty sixth quickest within the nation.
