Library to host pictures workshop

The Oshkosh Public Library will host a pictures workshop on March 21 to assist group members enhance their abilities and to coach the general public on how photographs can inform tales and encourage change.

Oshkosh Public Library Marketing Coordinator Laura McDonald mentioned the occasion will deliver collectively completed native photographers for a mixture of talks, demonstrations and hands-on periods targeted on craft, storytelling and affect.

“(It is) open to photographers of all experience levels,” McDonald mentioned in a press launch. “The program is inspired by Lewis Hine, an internationally recognized photographer and Oshkosh native whose work helped expose social injustices in the early 1900s.”

The workshop will start at 9:30 a.m. on the library with “The Legacy of Lewis Hine” and the “Origins of Advocacy Photography,” periods by Michael Cooney, an writer, photojournalist and pictures teacher.

Jim Koepnick, a former chief photographer on the Experimental Aircraft Association, will produce a “Lewis Hine Honors Presentation, 50 Years of Image Making” session at 10:30 a.m.

At 11:30 a.m., photographers Monty Montgomery, Dave Burke, Koepnick and Cooney will current “Why It Works,” which is able to talk about road, live performance, sports activities and information pictures.
