Center for Photography names winner of 2026 Saltzman Prize – Day by day Freeman

KINGSTON, N.Y. — The Center for Photography at Woodstock has named Indian visible artist Sridhar Balasubramaniyam because the recipient of its 2026 Saltzman Prize for rising photographers, the middle introduced.

In a press launch, the middle stated the prize, which features a $10,000 award, might be introduced as a part of the 2026 Center for Photography at Woodstock Vision Awards gala in May. Balasubramaniyam’s work can even be featured in a solo exhibition on the heart in 2027.

Based in Chennai, India, Balasubramaniyam’s work “explores the intricate relationship between body and land,” the middle stated. He particularly focuses on people tales, performances, and tribal weddings of southern India’s Dravidian communities.
