Girls’s Swim/Dive Claims All-America Honors within the 50 Freestyle and 400 Medley Relay

The Hope College ladies’s swimming and diving staff earned Second Team All-America honors within the 50-yard freestyle and the 400 medley relay Wednesday throughout Day 1 of the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis.

Senior Laurel Wasiniak (Northville, Michigan / Northville) completed Eleventh within the 50 freestyle after clocking 23.15 seconds within the comfort ultimate on the Indiana University Natatorium.

The chemical engineering main additionally anchored the Eleventh-place 400 medley relay, teaming with freshman Makenzie Baldwin (Holland, Michigan / West Ottawa), senior Madi Remenschneider (Holland, Michigan / West Ottawa) and sophomore Emme D’Errico (Farmington Hills, Michigan / Farmington) for a time of three:46.32.

The relay eclipsed their prelims time of three:46.99.

The All-America honors have been the ninth for Wasiniak and the primary for Baldwin, D’Errico and Remenschneider.

Hope sits in seventh after Day 1 with 38 factors. The four-day meet resumes Thursday, March 19, with 10 a.m. prelims and 6 p.m. finals.

Wasiniak will swim within the 200 freestyle. D’Errico and senior Katie Hermann (Canton, Michigan / Mercy) will race within the 400 particular person medley. The Flying Dutch may even swim within the 200 freestyle relay.
