Kenting National Park service technician Yang Jien-fon (楊政峰) gained a silver award in World Grand Prix Photography Awards Spring Season for his {photograph} of two male rat snakes intertwined in fight.

“This photo did not require any staking out or camouflage,” he stated.

While patrolling a hilly space west of Fongchueisha (風吹沙) in Kenting, he unexpectedly noticed two giant male rat snakes fiercely combating over territory in a pond, he stated.

The two rat snakes, that are non-venomous and might develop as much as 2m lengthy, have been tightly entwined, resembling the taut twists of a braid, Yang stated.
