Arvid Lindblad opens up on “fun” Liam Lawson partnership at Racing Bulls

Formula 1 rookie driver Arvid Lindblad has opened up about his relationship together with his Racing Bulls team-mate Liam Lawson.

The Briton joined the 2026 grid as the one rookie driver and has impressed within the first three rounds of the season. He scored factors on his debut on the season-opening Australian Grand Prix with an eighth-place end, and he at the moment sits eleventh within the drivers’ standings.

Lindblad joined Lawson on the Faenza-based staff, having identified the New Zealander from their earlier years within the Red Bull Junior Programme.

“A lot’s happened since the days of Karun Chandhok going 1v1 with Arvid Lindblad in a rental go-kart around Whilton Mill. I don’t think we’ll ever let Arvid live that day down!” Lawson instructed Motorsport.com and different choose media, when requested how shortly he had tailored to working with Lindblad.

“Things occur so shortly, particularly within the final couple of years. I used to be simply house, and I used to be seeing some highschool associates that I hadn’t seen in fairly a number of years, and I realised I hadn’t seen them in about 9 years, which is simply insane. 

“Obviously, things move very quickly and coming into this year with these new regulations, a lot is on us, working together, trying to communicate well and deliver what we need to the team to build on these regulations and I think so far, it’s been pretty seamless and smooth and it’s gone really, really well. Arvid’s done a good job coming in year one to be able to do that.”

Lindblad added: “It’s been enjoyable. We’ve identified one another because the early days within the programme, so I bear in mind smashing spherical Whilton Mill, however no, it has been enjoyable, and I feel we have got alongside effectively.

“We’ve identified one another for some time, which at all times helps and it has been a great vibe within the staff. I’ve loved sharing the storage with Liam. I feel we have gelled fairly effectively collectively and likewise helped to push the staff ahead.

“With such a big regulation change, there is so much, the rate of development for the teams is massive, especially compared to last year, where the engine’s been the same forever, 11, 12 years, the fourth year of a car, so I think just having a unified opinion and being able to discuss things and really give that clear feedback to the team has been positive.”
