Reed Merritt – Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach

Reed Merritt was named Assistant Diving Coach for The University of Texas Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving program in May 2025. A former Longhorn diver, Merritt joined the Texas workers after serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Stanford from 2021-25 whereas additionally working with the Stanford Diving Club.

Since arriving in Austin, Merritt has helped information Texas divers in contributing to the Longhorns’ 2026 SEC Championships for each the boys’s and ladies’s swimming and diving packages.

During his time at Stanford, Merritt coached Jack Ryan, a six-time NCAA finalist who earned 5 appearances in NCAA A finals. Under Merritt’s steerage, Ryan completed runner-up within the 1-meter and third within the 3-meter on the 2025 NCAA Championships.
