Summertime Enjoyable at Brainerd Library

(June 10, 2026) — Summer! Time for the seaside, yard barbecues, and fireworks.  And time for intriguing applications on the library, too.  Check out what’s developing:

• Today! Wednesday, June 10, 2026—An Adult Coloring Event. No registration required. Just drop in at 6:00 p.m.   And attempt to keep throughout the strains!
• A “One Book Club.” This summer season’s Adult Summer Reading  guide is “Remarkable Creatures,” a real story about Mary Anning, an Englishwoman who explored fossils within the early nineteenth century, when paleontology was in its infancy. Imagine being one of many first folks to acknowledge a dinosaur!   Everybody is invited to take part.  We present the books, so cease in, enroll, and choose up a duplicate.  We’ll meet on July 29, 2026 to listen to what you considered it.  If there’s sufficient curiosity, we’ll observe up with a discipline journey to Dinosaur State Park—households and youngsters welcome to return alongside!
• Is one thing bugging you? The library and DEEP (Department of Energy and Environmental Protection) are becoming a member of forces on June 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. to current a program telling you the whole lot you by no means knew you wanted to learn about bugs.  With microscopes and cheat sheets—er, guidebooks—you’ll study to determine some, and perceive why they matter.  Bonus:  in case you’ve ever needed to fulfill hissing cockroaches, that is your probability!  Register on-line, or give us a name.
• Are you a rooster particular person? Or a rooster particular person wannabe?  Then you’ll wish to attend this upcoming program on rooster well being and first support.  UConn Poultry Scientist Indu Upahyaya will likely be on the library at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 to reply all of your rooster well being issues.  Call us to register, or enroll on-line.
