“You’ll hear the that the world is a tough place, and that these are tough times. But I’ve got news for you: You’re tough too. You are Lancers. You are ready. If doors of opportunity don’t swing open, you’ll climb through the window. You might even build a door.”
It’s a category of survivors, he stated — a gaggle of scholars who stayed centered on studying, even amid powerful instances just like the Eaton fireplace and immigration raids, he added.
It was a well-received message echoed by scholar speaker Daniel Alejandro Tomelic Ortiz, who’s transferring to UCLA within the fall.
“Yes, we all belong here,” he informed his friends, including that his fellow college students can beat the percentages like he did.
He thanks his professors, mentors and oldsters.
“Don’t ever forget. Once a Lancer, always a Lancer,” he stated.
