Head Coach- Competitive Swimming | YMCA of the USA

Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Branch Director, the Head Coach of Competitive Swimming leads all points of a year-round aggressive swim program, together with teaching, athlete growth, workers management, and program operations.

This function is accountable for delivering a high-quality, mission-driven program that develops athletes at each stage whereas making certain efficient scheduling, meet execution, communication, and monetary oversight.

Ensures a protected, structured setting in compliance with YMCA, USA Swimming, and SafeSport requirements, whereas advancing the YMCA’s mission to strengthen group via youth growth, wholesome dwelling, and social duty.

The Head Coach & Director of Competitive Swimming is accountable for the general management, execution, and oversight of the next important features, together with all operational, administrative, and programmatic points of the swim staff:

PROGRAM LEADERSHIP & ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

• Designs and implements coaching plans for all observe teams
• Leads practices and develops athletes from newbie via superior ranges

OPERATIONAL & ADMINISTRATIVE EXCELLENCE

• Oversees all day-to-day operational and administrative features of this system
• Manages scheduling, staffing, registrations, communication, and recordkeeping
• Ensures adherence to YMCA programs (together with TeamUnify/SportsEngine), insurance policies, and procedures
   

PROGRAM GROWTH & INTEGRATION

• Supports recruitment via swim classes and youth packages
• Collaborates with Aquatics and Marketing to develop participation
• Evaluates program effectiveness and implements enhancements
• Manages staff communication platforms and public presence
   

MEET MANAGEMENT & EVENTS

• Develops and manages meet schedules, entries, and competitors technique
• Leads planning and execution of hosted and co-hosted meets
• Coordinates services, officers, volunteers, and meet logistics
• Ensures compliance with sanctioning, security, and monetary necessities
   

STAFF LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

• Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises teaching workers
• Provides clear expectations, suggestions, and ongoing growth
• Ensures workers meet certification and compliance necessities
   

SAFETY COMPLIANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT

• Ensures compliance with YMCA Competitive Sports Rules, USA Swimming, and SafeSport necessities
• Maintains certification and screening necessities for employees and volunteers
• Enforces supervision requirements and protected practices always
   

VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT & OVERSIGHT

• Recruits, organizes, and helps mum or dad and group volunteers
• Ensures all volunteers meet YMCA and USA Swimming security, coaching, certification, and membership necessities
• Oversees compliance with YMCA Child Abuse Prevention, Code of Conduct, and SafeSport-Minor Athlete Abuse
• Prevention Policies
• Assigns and coordinates volunteer roles for practices, meets, and staff occasions
• Communicates expectations for volunteer participation, together with service hours per household (if relevant)
   

FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP & PROGRAM ACCOUNTABILITY

• Manages program finances, income, bills, and meet charges
• Ensures all monetary exercise is processed via YMCA-approved programs
• Maintains documentation for audit and monetary compliance
   

FAMILY, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & MISSION ADVANCEMENT

• Builds and sustains sturdy relationships with swimmers, households, and group companions
