FIESTA SATURDAY

Celebrate the rhythm, vitality, and pleasure of Latin tradition at Fiesta Saturdays, a vibrant out of doors pageant offered by the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown. Bring your garden chairs and blankets to get pleasure from an unforgettable night that includes salsa music from Los Mambiseros and DJ Lola Vera, dance instruction, meals and craft distributors, cocktails, and neighborhood celebration underneath the summer season sky.

The sixth annual Watertown Arts Market returns to Arsenal Park. Free and open to all, the Arts Market will function native artists, makers, and cultural organizations — together with performances, youngsters’s actions, and an expanded lineup of performances and native meals distributors.

This yr’s Arts Market is the most important and most dynamic but. Guests can store from over 100 distributors, discover interactive art-making stations, and luxuriate in a devoted Kids Zone crammed with hands-on crafts and actions. Attendees will discover all kinds of meals distributors serving tacos, pizza, cookies, ice cream, espresso, tea, and far more!

ART OF ARSHILE GORKY and DIANE MARKOSIAN

Armenian Museum of America, 65 Main St.

Catch two particular reveals on the Armenian Museum of America. Arshile Gorky (c. 1904–1948) performed a pivotal position in shaping trendy artwork in America. A self-taught painter, his work helped usher in Abstract Expressionism, the primary internationally acknowledged American artwork motion and a long-lasting affect on artists worldwide. This exhibition focuses on Gorky’s relationships and sense of neighborhood, from his humble beginnings in Watertown as Vostanik Manoug Adoian to his later life as a celebrated artist.

Father traces an emotional journey by means of pictures, video, and archival supplies, exploring themes of loss, identification, and belonging. The Armenian Museum of America is proud to current Father, a deeply private and visually compelling undertaking by internationally acclaimed artist Diana Markosian. This exhibition marks the U.S. debut of the work, providing an intimate exploration of household, reminiscence, and identification. The exhibit runs by means of Sept. 13.
