Ubisoft confirmed in the Rainbow Six Siege Community Checkpoint held on Aug. 7 that Mute and Tubarão’s gadgets will counter Dokkaebi’s calls starting from Year 11 Season 3.

Dokkaebi was remastered in Operation System Override. Her operator gadget, initially known as the Logic Bomb and now known as the Jegeo Payload, has always been heavily criticised. Before the remaster, Dokkaebi could call all defenders at once by just pressing a button. She could do that twice every round. Additionally, she could hack cameras for an unlimited time.

Dokkaebi’s remaster completely changed how her operator gadget worked. Rather than allowing her to call all defenders at once, the Jegeo Payload only allows her to call one defender at a time, similar to Deimos’ device. Although defenders can still choose to ignore the call, doing so makes the phone explode, not only causing damage but also stopping them from accessing cameras as well as their own devices. For instance, operators such as Maestro, Echo, or Fenrir, who need their phone to use their operator devices, are extremely vulnerable.

The addition of the Jegeo Payload has also made hacking a bit more difficult. While Dokkaebi can hack phones from anywhere in the map (as long as a defender has been killed) the hacks only last for 30 seconds. She has up to two hacks per round.

In conclusion, the Jegeo Payload has more potential than the Logic Bomb. However, in order to unlock it, coordination, information, and team play is needed. This makes Dokkaebi’s current hability weaker in lower and mid Ranks, but stronger in higher ranks and competitive matches.

Since the release of Dokkaebi’s Jegeo Payload, the South Korean attacker has been hit with more criticism. Her loadout, which includes a DMR and the SMG-12, Jegeo Payload’s current shape and the lack of counters has strengthened Dokkaebi’s position in the meta.

Fortunately, Ubisoft has confirmed that players will have more counters to Dokkaebi starting from Year 11 Season 3. These will be Mute and Tubarão, who had already countered Dokkaebi’s Logic Bomb.

Mute’s jammers will automatically disrupt Dokkaebi’s calls once a defender walks or runs by one of them. Meanwhile, Tubarão’s canisters will automatically block Dokkaebi’s calls. These counters are very common to avoid being tracked by Deimos’ ability and will be used a lot to stop Dokkaebi’s intentions.

This isn’t Dokkaebi’s only nerf coming in Year 11 Season 3 as Ubisoft has already confirmed that the SMG-12 will be heavily nerfed in Year 11 Season 3.
