Planning a trip? California is home to one of the nation’s top up-and-coming travel destinations, a new study says.

The new ranking highlights “emerging vacation spots” in the United States that seem “poised for major growth,” according to Travel + Leisure.

Top Fabric, a commercial upholstery supplier, focused on smaller cities with “tons of growth potential,” Travel + Leisure said.

“Travelers are no longer just following traditional tourism hubs,” Ellie E.K., managing director at Top Fabric, said in a statement. “They’re actively seeking places with strong identity, natural appeal and memorable experiences, often before those destinations reach peak popularity.”
