Ree Drummond’s 14 Favourite Fall Traditions Shared with Her Family

Pumpkin patches by no means lose their appeal! Whether it is choosing out pumpkins, wandering via corn mazes, or snapping household images, it is a kind of outings that immediately will get everybody into the autumn spirit. And the outings are even higher now that little Sofia is right here to take pleasure in them!

Halloween is another excuse for the Drummond family to have a little fun! Ree loves seeing everyone’s creative costumes and embracing the playful side of the season. Oh, and she especially loves the sweets. “I love having treats before we go trick-or-treating,” Ree says. “It stretches out Halloween a little bit longer.”

There’s nothing like a crisp fall evening on the ranch. Ree loves soaking up the season with peaceful sunset walks, taking in the golden prairie views and cooler temperatures before calling it a day. And she loves these outings even more when her family joins!

Life on the ranch means having a front-row seat to the changing seasons. And who wouldn’t love that? Ree enjoys taking in the colorful fall scenery and appreciating the slower pace that comes with autumn (now that she’s an empty nester, of course).

Did you know The Mercantile hosts a fall festival? Well, now you do! It’s complete with costumes, pumpkin decorating, balloon art, face painting, games, and, of course, caramel apples! It hardly gets more nostalgic than that.

On chilly evenings, Ree and Ladd love winding down with a cozy movie night at home. It’s one of those simple traditions that never gets old. Ree says, “Movie night with Ladd whenever I can… Now that’s my kind of fall.”

For Ree, fall is as much about the food as it is the scenery. From pumpkin and apple to maple, cinnamon, and pecan, she’s happy to embrace every cozy flavor the season has to offer—especially when dessert is involved. “Pumpkin muffins, cookies, cakes, pie, pancakes, bread… once September rolls around, I am ALL IN,” she exclaims.

Thanksgiving at Drummond Ranch is one of the biggest traditions of the year. The whole family comes together for a feast packed with turkey, all the classic sides, and plenty of pie, making it a holiday filled with good food, family, and lots of laughter around the table.
