Males’s Swimming and Diving’s Mulgrew Named to 2026-27 USA Swimming National Team

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men’s Swimming and Diving sophomore William Mulgrew has been named to the 2026-27 USA Swimming National Team. The Walpole native will signify the United States this yr within the 800 and 1,500 freestyle.
 
“This National Team reflects the incredible depth of talent we have across the country,” USA Swimming National Team Executive Director and Coach Greg Meehan mentioned. “We have veteran athletes continuing to perform at the highest level alongside a talented group making their first National Team. That combination of experience and emerging talent gives us a lot to be excited about as we build toward LA28.” 
 
Mulgrew is one among 101 swimmers to be named to the National Team and one among 55 on the lads’s roster. He can also be one among two athletes from the Ivy League as Penn’s Watson Nguyen earned a spot within the 50 breaststroke. The whole group was chosen based mostly on outcomes from the 2025-26 swim season, starting from Sept. 1, 2025-Aug. 31, 2026.
 
Earlier this summer season, Mulgrew received the 1,500 free on the Toyota National Championships earlier than logging a runner-up efficiency within the 800 free and a third-place effort within the 400 free.
