Tri-State gasoline costs high $4 a gallon for Labor Day journey, with NYC highest at $4.25

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — With a file Labor Day journey rush underway, drivers throughout the Tri-State are going through a few of the highest gasoline costs within the nation, including recent strain to vacation budgets and forcing some households to rethink highway journey plans.

Gas costs have climbed sharply forward of the vacation weekend, with common gasoline averaging $4.25 a gallon in New York City, $4.21 in Connecticut, $4.16 on Long Island and $4.09 in New Jersey. AAA says costs are being pushed increased by the continued warfare with Iran, rising oil prices and tight home gas provides.

Despite the ache on the pump, Friday was anticipated to be one of many busiest days of the Labor Day journey interval.

AAA Northeast says the nationwide common for normal gasoline is $4.08 a gallon, whereas GasBuddy stories drivers might see gasoline costs at or above $4 a gallon nationally on Labor Day for the primary time ever.
