What questions does your work ask?

How will we grieve? Or, how will we refuse to carry out female beliefs? How does interiority operate in relation to the human psyche?

What fears does your work handle?

I hope that my photographs assuage the voices that inform us to concern being safe in our softness. Softness shouldn’t be seen as an ethical failing, and our capacity to really feel and empathize is simply as needed as presenting chilly, concrete information.

Who are your visible influences?

Queen Carrie Mae Weems. I wish to see much less paying homage. I wish to see extra dangers taken. I need artists to be trustworthy with themselves about why they make what they make and who they make it for.

What substances do you all the time search for in a picture?

A definite coloration palette. Deana Lawson’s Young Grandmother, 2019, is my favourite use of coloration in {a photograph}. I believe compositions that take dangers and make errors—as a result of they know methods to break the principles—are refreshing.
