Johnathan Jordan Tabbed to Lead Millikin University’s Swimming and Diving Program

Decatur, IL – Millikin University Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Johnathan Jordan as its subsequent Head Swimming and Diving Coach, as introduced by Vice President for Athletics and Community Engagement Lori Kerans ’85.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Johnathan Jordan to Millikin and to begin this next chapter for Big Blue Swimming and Diving.” stated Kerans. “Coach Jordan brings a wealth of experience as a coach, recruiter, educator and athletics administrator, but what impressed us most was his commitment to developing student-athletes and building strong, connected programs. We appreciate the student-athletes, coaches and alumni who have invested so much in Millikin Swimming and Diving over the years, and we believe Johnathan is the right leader to honor that foundation while bringing new energy, stability and vision to the program.  There is a great deal of opportunity in front of this program, and I could not be more excited about Coach Jordan’s leadership and what we can build together at Millikin.”

Prior to Millikin, Jordan served because the Head Swimming Coach at Division I Eastern Illinois University for 2 seasons. While at Eastern, his swimmers set 12 college data and picked up 22 prime ten EIU performances. He coached one Summit League All-Academic choice in 2022, and the lads’s group received the CSCAA Scholar All-America Top 10 award in the course of the 2022-23 educational 12 months.

An achieved coach in any respect ranges, Jordan has coached athletes as excessive because the Olympic stage. After engaged on the Fiji Swimming Federation Coaching employees for one 12 months, he turned a member of the nationwide group employees for the Marshall Islands Swimming Federation. He has coached the Marshall Islands at World Championships, Pacific Games, Oceania Games, and the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. He has additionally served as a member of the Oceania National Olympic Committee.

Before shifting to Eastern Illinois, Jordan served for seven seasons as the top coach at Lincoln College.
