California State Parks Foundation extends pictures contest

The California State Parks Foundation has prolonged the deadline for its annual State Park Photography competitors, permitting photographers to submit their work by Sept. 30.

The nationwide contest accepts photographers of all ages and expertise ranges, encouraging them to seize pictures of iconic landscapes, leisure actions, and every little thing in between.

“This is a wonderful way for Californians to highlight and raise awareness for their favorite parks. With hundreds of state parks around the state, we expect to see a wide range of photos that include beaches, mountains, urban parks, rivers, people enjoying nature, and more,” stated Rachel Norton, Executive Director of California State Parks Foundation.

The classes for submission are scenic landscapes, wildlife and nature, leisure actions, folks in parks, and California historical past. Applicants could submit as much as three pictures per class.

Applicants could submit footage from any of California’s 280 state park models, which embody a whole bunch of miles of shoreline, 1000’s of historic websites, and over 5,200 miles of trails. Submissions will likely be judged on aesthetics, creativity, technicality, and storytelling capacity. Winners from every class will obtain a California State Parks Foundation membership that features a California Explorer Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass.
