Travel alert issued for NC, NE North Dakota

The alert is due to blowing snow creating reduced visibility and slippery road conditions, especially near bridges and other structures, the announcement said. Cities included in the alert are Minot, Mohall, Bottineau, Towner, Harvey, Devils Lake, Rugby, Lakota, Larimore, Grand Forks and surrounding areas north of U.S. Highway 2.

A travel alert means that conditions are such that motorists can still travel in these areas but should be aware of rapidly changing conditions that could result in a travel advistory or a no travel advisory. Motorists should reduce speeds and drive according to the conditions.
