WASHINGTON (GRAY DC) — The Miller brothers felt like celebrities once they stepped off the aircraft in Washington, D.C. Thursday.

“I had to look back because I thought Beyonce was behind me, but it was for us,” Leo Miller mentioned.

The 5 Miller brothers, Leo, Willie, Thomas John and James, joined a bunch of 28 veterans who traveled to D.C. with non-profit group Eternally Younger Senior Veterans.

“That was amazing. I felt like crying,” James mentioned concerning the crowd of individuals cheering for the group once they arrived within the nation’s capital.

Diane Hight based the group in 2006 as a result of she needed to “bring joy to the older veterans.” Eternally Younger brings veterans again to the locations they fought in addition to D.C. to see the army monuments.

This was the primary time the Millers have traveled collectively as adults. James described the journey as “unbelievable.”

The brothers grew up in Decatur, Alabama and have been 5 of the 13 veterans from Alabama who traveled to D.C.
