Meet Arrokoth: Ultima Thule, the Most Distant Object Ever Explored, Has a New Title


Hopefully you were not too connected to “2014 MU69,” as a result of probably the most distant object ever explored has a brand new title.

The 21-mile-wide (34 kilometers) physique visited by NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft on Jan. 1 is now formally often known as Arrokoth, a time period meaning “sky” within the Powhatan/Algonquian language, mission workforce members introduced in the present day (Nov. 12).
