Join the Excitement: MSU Baseball Kicks Off Season with First Pitch Night on January 25!

SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State baseball is set to hold its 15th annual First Pitch Night on Saturday, January 25, featuring a reunion of the 2015 Bears as the main highlight of the occasion.
 
The First Pitch Night event is scheduled to occur at the Bill Rowe Training Facility located at Hammons Field, commencing at 5:30 p.m. This event aims to assist the Bears in launching the 2025 season, which begins on February 14 with a three-game series against Sam Houston.
 
Currently, individual tickets are available for purchase at $25 each, with payments being processed by Masterful Events through the following methods:

The evening’s entertainment will be highlighted by a program featuring the 2015 Bears, with attendees including Jake Burger, Jon Harris, Matt Hall, the first-year head coach of MSU Joey Hawkins, and Tate Matheny, along with several others.
 
The 2015 Bears achieved a school record by winning 49 games and secured the No. 8 national seed in the NCAA Tournament. Missouri State hosted an NCAA Regional at Hammons Field, sweeping through that weekend, which led to a school-record 19 consecutive wins. The Bears concluded the year one victory shy of Omaha after losing a three-game series in the Super Regional at Arkansas.
 
Missouri State experienced a remarkable surge in mid-March of that year, triumphing in 39 of 43 games, which facilitated the sweep of both the Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament championships, reaching as high as No. 6 in the national rankings. Four Bears were honored with All-America accolades and four received specialty awards from the Missouri Valley Conference at the season’s conclusion.
 
The 2025 Bears will be present for autograph signings, and silent as well as live auctions that will feature sporting and non-sporting memorabilia and other prizes will be held. A buffet dinner will also be part of the evening’s activities.
 
First Pitch Night concludes a significant day for the MSU Baseball program. Earlier that morning, former head coach Keith Guttin along with his long-time pitching coach Paul Evans will be inducted into the Missouri State Athletics Hall of Fame, along with Ken Brown, who played for the Bears from 1965-67.
