This is The Republic’s 2024-25 All-Arizona Girls High School Swimming and Diving Team along with the Coach of the Year. The team consists of competitors who participated in Arizona Interscholastic Association events this season (arranged alphabetically).

The girls swimmer/diver of the year will be chosen from these twelve nominees (listed in alphabetical order below) and will be announced at the conclusion of the school year during the Arizona High School Sports Awards ceremony.

Ellie Horning, Desert Mountain, Sr.

She obtained the D-II state championships in the 100 fly and 100 back. She registered the second-fastest time in the state for the 100 back.

Amber Janky, Tucson Catalina Foothills, Sr.

She was crowned the Division II state champion in both the 200 IM and the 50 free, boasting the fastest time in the state for the 200 IM.

Ellie Kayser, Desert Vista, Jr.

She achieved the title of state champion in Division I for the 200 and 500 freestyle events.

Simone Sabeeh, Phoenix Country Day, Sr.

She shattered the girls’ state diving record, claiming the Division III championship.

Leila Stafford, Catalina Foothills, So.

She finished in a tie for first in the 200 free in Division II and clinched the 500 state title with the fastest time in the state.

Aubrielle Stevens, Paradise Honors, Jr.

She attained the Division III state titles in both the 50 and 100 free, recording the second-fastest time in Arizona for each event.

Lorin Tobler, Gilbert, Sr.

Recognized as the state Swimmer of the Year during her junior year, she triumphed in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke in Division I, achieving the fastest times in the state.

Glen Coy, Xavier Prep

The seasoned girls swimming coach, who spent the longest period at Mesa Mountain View, celebrated his first state title in 30 years of coaching. This achievement marked Xavier’s first Division I state title since 2017 and the school’s 29th overall championship.

“The squad exhibited tremendous support for one another,” Coy remarked. “From day one, they were dedicated to their aim, motivating each other to achieve it.”

“I am elated with their achievements. Earning my first state championship as a coach is an indescribable sensation, but none of this occurs without the assistance of my assistant coaches, David Smithers and Pao Guerra.”
