Meet the 2024 Fab 5 high school girls basketball team: Torie Neubauer, Kate McGinnis, Olivia Witkowski, Rainey Welson and Peyton Musial.
The high school boys swimming and diving season is currently active in Wisconsin.
With the new year approaching 2025, the season is set to intensify, with only a couple of months remaining until the WIAA state championships at Waukesha South High School.
The Division 2 state meet is scheduled for Feb. 21, followed by the Division 1 state meet the next day.
Here’s a preview of the leading swimmers and divers in the Appleton region this season, who aspire to compete for top conference, sectional, and state meet placements.
Ethan Bruce, jr., Appleton West/Kimberly/Hortonville/Kaukauna
Competed in the anchor leg on the 200-yard medley relay team, finishing 18th at the Division 1 state meet last season with a time of 1:39.88 and securing second at the Neenah sectional in 1:40.21. Participated as the third leg of the 200 freestyle relay team that placed eighth at the Neenah sectional in 1:34.12 and achieved third at the Fox Valley Association meet in 1:36.82. Contributed as the second leg on the 400 freestyle relay team which ended up 22nd at the Division 1 state meet in 3:21.70, was second at the sectional in 3:21.04, and won at the conference meet in 3:26.16.
