WA businessman Ted Powell donates $100 million to Perth’s Murdoch University and animal hospital

An animal-loving philanthropist has donated $100 million to Western Australia’s solely veterinary drugs college, the most important donation ever acquired by a college within the state.

Perth businessman Ted Powell gave the cash to Murdoch University, which can allow it to rebuild its veterinary college and improve the variety of vet college students by virtually 50 per cent.

Murdoch University vice chancellor Andrew Deeks mentioned he was speechless when Mr Powell advised him of his determination.

“Well I had to take my jaw off the floor and bring it back up,” he mentioned.

“It’s bringing the facilities up to world class standards,” he mentioned.
