Mountaineers Journey to Coastal Carolina

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 4 West Virginia University males’s soccer staff travels to Coastal Carolina for a Sun Belt matchup, Friday, Oct. 10. Kickoff from CCU Soccer Stadium is about for 7 p.m.

The Mountaineers are 7-1-2 this season after defeating No. 6 Georgia Southern, 2-0, on Saturday. Graduate pupil Carlos Hernando and senior Marcus Caldeira every scored for WVU whereas graduate pupil Bryce Swinehart and sophomore Isaac Scheer each collected assists.
 
Goalkeeper Marc Bonnaire made three saves to safe his second consecutive shutout en path to taking residence Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week honors. Overall, he has recorded 5 shutouts this season and has allowed only one penalty kick objective in three convention video games.
 
Junior Pablo Pozos leads the Sun Belt and is eighth within the nation with eight objectives this season whereas Caldeira is 12^th within the nation and atop the Sun Belt leaderboard in factors with 18 (6g, 6a).
 
In the Sun Belt desk, the Mountaineers are tied with Kentucky with 9 factors, three factors away from each Georgia Southern and Marshall.
 
Coastal Carolina is led by first-year head coach Chris Fidler. The Chanticleers are 1-6 and 0-3 within the Sun Belt after a detailed 2-1 loss at Old Dominion of their final contest.
 
Loed Klaasen leads the staff with eight factors on two objectives and 4 assists. Alec Laible and Harrison Gough have break up time in objective, making a mixed 21 saves on the season.
