NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Airlines are elevating airfares and costs amid rising jet gas prices.
Jet gas costs have soared amid ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran.
At Louis Armstrong International Airport, some vacationers had been relieved they purchased their tickets earlier than the battle started.
“Yes, ma’am I am. Actually I was able to use a ticket that i had not used previously, so that worked out well for me,” stated Kim Boyd, who was touring again to Chicago.
Eddie Pullaro, who was touring together with his spouse to Colorado, agreed.
“Yes, ma’am, we bought it about two months ago, we got kids living in Colorado,” he stated.
The International Air Transport Association says the typical international jet gas worth has risen to greater than $200 per barrel, up from roughly $99 on the finish of February.

“Especially, I noticed it really, you know, with the Saints game that we’re talking about coming up in Paris. and a lot of people have been reaching out to me about, you know, traveling for that.and so, the flights have been higher, higher than what I’ve seen in previous times.”
